When to consider an ADHD assessment

You may recognise some of this in your child:

School reports mention “easily distracted” or “struggles to concentrate”

Homework takes far longer than it should, with tears or meltdowns

They’re constantly “on the go”, fidgeting or acting without thinking

They’re bright, but their results don’t match their potential

As a parent, it’s hard to know when to push, when to support and when to ask for a formal assessment. Our role is to give you clarity, kindness and a clear plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age do you see?

We usually assess from age 6–17. For younger children, we may be able to give general guidance and signposting.
Where parents consent and schools are willing, we encourage school questionnaires or reports as part of the assessment.
A diagnosis doesn’t change who your child is. It can help teachers and family understand them better and unlock support that matches how they think and learn.
Our reports are written so they can be shared with schools, local authorities and exam boards. Each has its own criteria, but having a clear, structured assessment is usually helpful.

Many parts can be done via secure video. Some families still prefer clinic visits, especially for younger children – we can discuss what’s best for you.
