All new drivers who want to drive Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV) are required to undergo a medical exam. For existing HGV drivers, the DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency) requires a medical test to be taken at the age of 45, and subsequently every five years until age 65. After turning 65, the medical test is required to be taken once every year.
